Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 09, 2026
At BYAMN, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we handle your personal data when you use our platform.
1.Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your name, email address, and profile image, provided via Google sign-in.
- Learning data: course enrollments, lesson progress, quiz attempts and scores, code submissions, execution results, and certificates earned.
- Usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and general interaction data used to operate and improve the platform.
- Cookies: small data files used to maintain your session and platform preferences (such as dark/light mode).
2.How We Use Your Data
- To create and maintain your account and learning progress.
- To run and grade code you submit through the platform's sandbox.
- To generate and verify completion certificates.
- To operate features such as leaderboards, streaks, and notifications.
- To respond to support inquiries sent to us directly.
- To monitor platform usage, detect abuse, and fix technical issues.
3.Cookies & Tracking
Cookies are small files that may include an anonymous identifier used to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but doing so may prevent parts of BYAMN — including staying logged in — from working correctly.
4.How We Share Data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate BYAMN, including:
- Google, for authentication via Google Sign-In.
- MongoDB Atlas, for secure storage of account and learning data.
- Cloudinary, for hosting course thumbnails and certificate assets.
- Our email delivery provider, for account-related and invite emails.
- Our code execution infrastructure, solely to run and return output for code you submit.
Each of these providers processes data only as needed to deliver their part of the service, and is subject to their own privacy and security practices.
5.Data Retention
We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the service (for example, so completed certificates remain verifiable). You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
6.Data Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access-controlled infrastructure. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7.Children's Privacy
BYAMN does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
8.Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below.
9.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date on this page.
